Getting to know Fr. Michael Fitzpatrick

Historical background

Father Michael Fitzpatrick grew up in Norwood, MA.  After graduating from Xaverian Brother's High School he attended St. John Seminary College in Brighton.  He then worked in a group home setting first with adjudicated juveniles (seven years total including a couple when still in college) and second doing rehabilitative teaching with children who had suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (for about three years).  He reentered formation for the priesthood in 1999 and was sent to major seminary at Mt. St. Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD for the fall semester of that year.  Upon graduation from "The Mount", he was sent to serve at St. Mary Parish in Mansfield as a Transitional Deacon.  His ordination to the priesthood was on October 11, 2003 and he continued to serve at St. Mary's as Parochial Vicar as well as three years as Chaplain of Bishop Feehan High School.  In 2008, he was assigned as Chaplain of U Mass Dartmouth, and also assistant/part time Chaplain at St. Luke Hospital in New Bedford (where he did his best to fill in for Fr. Thibault on Tuesdays and Fridays!)

Prior to coming to St. Joan of Arc, he was Parochial Vicar of Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich, MA
