Respect Life

This ministry is committed to promoting the Church’s teachings on the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Join us at our next meeting. For more information, call Ellen, 508-896-8692, or Doris, 508-255-1487.

Social Justice Promote and enhance social justice in our parish and community.  For more information see the "Social Justice" page.
Shawl Ministry Care and love of knitting have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace -- individuals facing serious illness or recovering from surgery, home-bound parishioners, those in nursing homes, and as a comfort after a loss.  Small white shawls welcome newly baptized infants into our parish family.  Many blessings are knitted into every shawl.  Parishioners in this ministry may participate by knitting/crocheting in their own homes and on their own schedules, as well as meeting in a group setting every 4-6 weeks to share ideas and expertise.  An afternoon group meets in the church building and an evening group meets in private homes.  If you would like more information about the Shawl Ministry, please call the Rectory or email shawlministry@joanarc.org
Ushers Ushers have the responsibility to greet parishioners and visitors as they enter church. Their ministry is to assist others by handing out materials needed for liturgical functions, finding a suitable place in church for everyone, taking up the collection, selecting a family for the gift offering, directing those who are receiving communion and helping in other areas where needed.

The ministry is open to anyone (male or female) over the age of 18.

If you are interested in being an usher, email ushers@joanarc.org  John Fitzpatrick, Coordinator of Ushers.
Visitors to the Sick The focus of our ministry is to visit parishioners and community members who are housebound or reside in local nursing homes -- to play cards, take a walk or just chat for a while. Some of our Visitors are  Eucharistic Ministers, enabling the homebound to receive Holy Communion.  Every other month, the Visitors celebrate Mass with residents of the Orleans Convalescent Home.  We  meet as a group on a quarterly basis in the Parish Hall for educational programs and fellowship.

For info or to request a visitor, call Shirley & Bill Averill, 508-240-2092 or email visitors@joanarc.org .
